Guiding your way from start to finish
Students in the Department of Political Science have the advantage of a two-tiered advising system. All students are assigned a professional academic advisor, an expert in degree requirements, the university system, and experiential learning opportunities, while faculty serve as mentors in the discipline, guiding students in career, research, and advanced study opportunities. Additionally, pre-law students in our department have the advantage of working with an advisor to help them prepare for the LSAT and law school applications. Students can schedule advising appointments through MyUI.
“My advisor not only answered any question I had about law school, but she also went out of her way to put me in touch with people that could help. I always left her office reinvigorated and excited for my future.”

Honors Advising
Students interested in graduating with honors are encouraged to consult with the Department of Political Science Faculty Honors Advisor. Professors Brian Lai or Nicholas Martini are available to discuss ways in which honors students may enhance their undergraduate education through research and other high impact academic activities.
