Olive is a PhD student in Political Science studying American Politics and Quantitative Methodology. Their research interests include Congress and state politics, with a particular focus on legislative behavior, women in legislatures, and policymaking. They are also interested in applying quantitative, computational, and text-analysis methods to the study of American politics. They serve as a Graduate Student Consultant and workshop facilitator through the UI Center for Social Science Innovation, where they teach data visualization, regression methods, and multilevel modeling in Stata and R.
