Rene R. Rocha is chair of American Studies and a professor of political science and Latina/o/x studies at the University of Iowa. 

His research on immigration and Latino politics has been widely published and recognized with several awards for offering new ways to understand power and belonging in American life. 

He is now writing a book about how U.S. immigration policy contributed to the growth of undocumented migration over the course of the twentieth century.
