Biography

Robert Bone is a principal at CD4GS in which he provides consulting services and develops Counterintelligence and Insider Threat programs for private and public institutions in the global market. 

Prior to CD4GS, Mr. Bone was the Director of Global Intelligence at Chainalysis. Mr. Bone built and led the global intelligence team which developed strategy on data collection and identification of illicit actors and activities in the blockchain in relation to cryptocurrency transactions. He provided actionable intelligence to public and private sector customers for criminal and national security investigations, and anti-money laundering strategy.

Prior to Chainalysis, Mr. Bone served in the FBI for over 20 years.  Mr. Bone specialized in counterterrorism, counterintelligence, counterespionage, cyber investigations and technology development at the FBI.

During his tenured career in intelligence and law enforcement, he last served as the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI office in Los Angeles, California. He oversaw all counterintelligence and cyber investigations in southern California and had the extraterritorial oversight of FBI investigations throughout Asia.

Mr. Bone served in multiple leadership roles in the FBI and was the Deputy Assistant Director of the Operational Technology Division for the FBI developing new collection tools and deriving intelligence from technical sources.

Mr. Bone was the Chief Inspector for the FBI, developing processes and procedures ensuring compliance and regulatory oversight for Department of Justice requirements in-regards-to FBI operations and the Insider Threat programs for multiple federal agencies.

Throughout his FBI career Mr. Bone also served in the Washington Field Office, Counterintelligence Division, Counterterrorism Division, Minneapolis Division, Chicago Division, Denver Division as well as in the Legal Attaché office in Kabul, Afghanistan. Highlights from his career include developing collaborative tools as the Joint Terrorism Task Force Coordinator in Chicago working both international and domestic terrorism and serving in Afghanistan for FBI operational deployment developing intelligence to investigate kidnappings and terrorism threats to U.S. Forces and United States interests.  Mr. Bone was also a FBI pilot serving air operation missions in Chicago.

Prior to serving with the FBI, Mr. Bone spent 5 years as a Silverthorne Police Officer and Detective in Colorado and specialized in computer forensics in-regards-to Crimes Against Children.
