Vicki Hesli Claypool
Vicki Hesli Claypool is Professor Emerita of Political Science at the University of Iowa. She served as Director of Undergraduate Studies and Director of Graduate Studies. Her most significant service contributions to the University of Iowa were in her role as Chair of the Faculty Assembly and Chair of the university’s Research Council.
At the professional level, she served on the Editorial Board of the American Political Science Review and as Chair of the American Political Science Association Committee on the Status of Women in the Profession. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Kiev Taras Shevchenko National University. Claypool was co-principal investigator on National Science Foundation and Department of Defense grants and principal investigator on Department of State partnership program grants. She has authored, co-authored and co-edited six books, fifteen book chapters, and fifty journal articles.
