Biography

Virginia (Ginny) McCalmont is a founding partner at Forsgren Fisher McCalmont DeMarea Tysver LLP, a litigation, investigations, and IP-counseling boutique law firm with offices in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Kansas City, Missouri. Her practice focuses on complex civil and criminal litigation. Before entering private practice, Ginny served as a law clerk to the Honorable Janet C. Hall of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut and the Honorable Diana E. Murphy of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. 
 
Ginny received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and German with a minor in English from the University of Iowa in 2010, graduating with highest distinction, honors, and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. While at Iowa, Ginny was a Presidential Scholar, a participant in the Academic Year in Freiburg study abroad program, and a volunteer with the Rape Victim Advocacy Program. Ginny also was (and remains!) a dedicated Hawkeye sports fan. Ginny received her law degree from Yale Law School, where she was an editor of the Yale Law Journal, an executive board member of Yale Law Women, a Coker Fellow, and a member of the Veterans Legal Services Clinic.
